Find Your Passion, Find Your Life

By Samuel Bethea

Key Words:

  1. Niche
  2. Goals
  3. Passion

Key Takeaways

  • Can you answer the question, “What Is Your Passion?”
  • Everyone has a unique niche in life that lives within their true passion and interests.
  • All too often, adult responsibilities get in the way of our dreams.
  • Play is what enables us to do our best work and is what leads you to find your true passions and interests. Think back to your 8 year-old self.

What does it feel like when you finally find your niche and are able to work within it? Many people describe the experience as exhilarating, fun, and giving them a sense of completeness. With such great prospects for fulfillment, why not make every effort to find your niche?

Our Financial Freedom and Personal Credit Improvement Services can give you that extra boost you need.

Everyone seems to have similar goals in life: We want to find the love of our life, be fruitful, maintain good health and find an occupation that is enjoyable, pays wells and is related to our interests.

According to renowned American poet and philosopher, Henry David Thoreau, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”

When it comes to life’s endeavors, most of us have varying degrees of success. The key to success seems to be in the journey. It’s about maintaining the belief that it’s possible to reach our goals. It’s about using hope, faith and determination as fuel for reaching our ultimate destination.

A favorite question that I like to ask my coaching clients is: “What is your passion?”
I always enjoy asking this question because most people are not expecting it and it often renders them speechless.

It shouldn’t.

In many cultures, not just ours, passion is driven out of us as we get older and is replaced with responsibility. Early in life we’re told to focus on work not on play. That’s a shame and we should reverse it.

The power of play

Play is what leads us to our best work. Play is what leads us to our true interests—interests that will help us determine our goals, fulfill our aspirations, understand our dreams and pursue our desires.

To find your passion, you only have to look into your childhood. Remember what it was like to be eight years old? Remember those special moments of joy, fulfillment, engagement and excitement that you felt in everyday life? Seeking that feeling is what continues to drive many of us today?

Once adults enter the picture with all of their work, chores and focus on responsibility, the picture of playfulness often fades out as we become “one of them.”

Young people are often praised for becoming “adults”, but Yuk! What a bore and what a killjoy that becomes.

Unlocking your passion

I believe that everyone’s niche is alive inside of their passion and everyone’s passion is unique and established early in their life. IT COULD BE X, Y, OR EVEN Z…..Sam do you have examples from your clients?

The key is to look back to your early years and draw out what is already there.

When you uncover your passion, your niche will be there waiting for you to discover. Find your passion, follow your dreams and you will find yourself in the middle of your niche.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! “He who walks in another’s tracks leaves no footprints.” by Joan Brannon.
